Prof. Katherine A. Kim (김예린,金藝璘)

Dr. Katherine A. Kim received the B.S. degree in Electrical and computer engineering (ECE) from the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in 2007. She received the M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in ECE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 and 2014, respectively. Areas of research include power electronics, converter modeling and control, photovoltaic differential power processing systems, photovoltaic panel modeling, and energy harvesting applications.

Dr. Kim received the East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes Fellowship in 2010 and Graduate Research Fellowship in 2011 from the U.S. National Science Foundation. She also received the Outstanding Teaching Award from UNIST in 2015 and the Richard M. Bass Outstanding Young Power Electronics Engineer Award from the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) in 2019. Since 2017, she has served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics. For IEEE PELS, she served as the Student Membership Chair in 2013-2014, PELS Member-At-Large for 2016-2018, and PELS Women in Engineering Chair in 2018-2019.
